Cook delicious pure foods through an array of cooking classes, recipes from Vaidya Mishra and Divya Alter geared to balancing the five elements of the body and improve digestive power. The training includes the art of using delicious spices mixtures with the six tastes – sweet, sour, salty, bitter, astringent and pungent. Specific spices help to increase digestive power, prevent gas and bloating and contribute to weight balance.
In addition, Ayurveda Health Coach training includes learning about natural foods according to the five elements such as which whole grains, seeds, legumes, a large variety of vegetables, fruits, proteins, healthy oils, milks, and nuts effect which mind/body type. Ayurveda does not offer a cookie cutter approach to diet because each food item either increases one of the elements or disturbs and disrupts the channels of the body. Ayurvedic diet favors foods to help prevent constipation, strengthen the body, and build ojas.
The presence and quality of ojas in the body determines the overall immune strength and inner happiness and peace we are all capable of. Ayurveda Health Coaches trained at AALC have a thorough understanding of the connection between mood and food, food and digestion, and digestion and its connection to illness. Ancient Ayurveda texts says that the quality of digestion forms the basis of health or ill health. Our curriculum offers an in-depth exploration of food and digestion. At AALC you will gain confidence in your own decisions regarding nutritional decisions, Ayurvedic cooking techniques and meal planning. Some students at AALC new or resistent to cooking have discovered the many healing benefits of cooking healthy homemade meals and how it has significantly improved their health and wellbeing.
